Working with Prairie Homes for our remodeling project was a wonderful experience. My wife and I had heard of Nick and Cait through personal contacts who work in the building industry and discovered that they had a very strong reputation for high-quality construction and hands- on customer service.

In our initial meeting with Nick and Cait, they patiently listened to our high-level vision for bringing our late-1990s home up to date (visualize an overwhelming amount of golden oak!). They asked us the right questions so that they could zero in on what we wanted to accomplish with the project. Their expertise became evident as they explained the trade-offs of different options including impacts on budget and resale value. From the outset, we were comfortable with their communication style and felt confident that they could do the job.

After the initial meeting, and per our request, they came back to us with a couple of options and the costs associated with those two paths. Their proposal was clear, and their design was perfectly aligned with our vision; we agreed on the requirements and Prairie Homes earned the bid.

When we kicked-off the project, we worked very closely with Cait on the design specifics and picking out the fun new features (e.g., flooring, tile, counter tops, trim, paint colors, etc.)—we had a fabulous time working with Cait to make our choices. For real, we’re not kidding, it was genuinely fun!

Our goal was to complete the remodel by Thanksgiving. And thanks to their hard work and relentless project management, we were able to have friends and family to our home for our Thanksgiving feast; we are very proud of the “new house” and our guests were duly impressed. The project was completed on budget and on time. From a design perspective, it turned out better than we even visualized at the outset. If we were to do it all over again, we would not change a thing!
